The Art and Design GCSE at Brasspoint is a 2 year course with one 2 hour class a week. Gallery visits and project trips support ongoing work.

Students will be introduced to a range of fine art, design and photographic skills underpinned by a focus on the development of a student's individual visual language.

Our studio includes all relevant art materials as well as Apple Macs for digital design, artwork and research to progress projects in various and contemporary ways.

At the beginning of each new term we visit a gallery to look at other artist's work in order to inform and inspire us in our own projects.

Recent visits have included:

De La Warr Gallery, Bexhill;

Jerwood Gallery, Hastings;

National Portrait Gallery, London; Tate Modern, London

A Level

The Art and Design A Level follows the same exam board as the GCSE (OCR) meaning the structure and criteria are very similar.

As students are older the development of their work is progressed to an advanced level through the same processes of experimentation.
